Common Questions

I know reaching out can feel like a big step. Here are answers to questions many people ask before we start.

What is your session rate, and do you work with insurance?

My private-pay rate for individual sessions is $135. I also see clients through several therapy platforms — Tava Health, Grow Therapy, Sondermind, and Headway — where you can check your insurance coverage directly. If you'd like to use out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for reimbursement. Reach out and I'm happy to help you find the best option for you.

Do you offer in-person sessions or only telehealth?

I work with clients via telehealth by appointment only. This means you can connect from home or wherever feels comfortable—no commute, no waiting room. If the times I have available don't work for your schedule, reach out anyway. I may be able to accommodate additional times.

What should I expect in a first session?

Our first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brought you here. I'll ask questions, listen more than I talk, and give you a sense of how I work. My style is warm and direct—no scripts, no judgment. By the end, you'll know if this feels like the right fit. There's no pressure; if it doesn't feel right, that's okay too.

How do you work with grief and loss?

Grief isn't something to fix or get over—it's something to understand and carry. I use a blend of person-centered and solution-focused work, meaning I meet you where you are and help you find your footing at your own pace. Whether you're grieving a person, a relationship, an identity, or a version of yourself, I'm here to sit with you in that without trying to make it smaller or neater than it is.

I'm trying to navigate workplace challenges and don't know where to start. Can you help?

Yes. Workplace challenges often show up as exhaustion, numbness, or feeling like you're performing instead of living. I work with professionals and hourly staff running on empty all the time. We'll use CBT and mindfulness tools—not as a formula, but tailored to what actually works for you—to help you understand what's happened and build something different. You've been strong long enough. It's time to exhale.

Do you work with LGBTQ+ clients?

I specialize in affirming, truly welcoming care for LGBTQ+ individuals. This means I'm not just tolerant—I get it, I support it, and I help you navigate identity, relationships, family dynamics, and everything else from a place of genuine affirmation. You deserve a space where you can find hope, find clarity, and begin healing.

What therapy approaches do you use?

I draw from several evidence-based approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for identifying patterns, Mindfulness-Based work for grounding, Motivational Interviewing for change, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy for clarity, and Strength-Based work for resilience. I'm not locked into one method. I tailor my approach to you—your pace, your needs, your goals. No formula, just what works.
